The letter contains the following message: Dear Sirs, I am much obliged to you from your letter of yesterday's date, and the copy of the "Evening News" of the 4th inst, containing a reference to the Jewish Regiment. I am consulting the Chairman of the Press Committee of the Board of Deputies on the matter. I take this opportunity of quoting the following passage from General Allenby's despatch of October 31st 1918 - "of the fighting troops, all have taken their share, and have carried out what was required of them. I would bring to notice the good fighting qualities shown by the newer units. These include ... the Jewish Battalion of the Royal Fusiliers...) Yours Faithfully, J.M. Rich, Secretary.

Warwick), L/C Wise (39th R.F), Pte. Angel (38th R.F), Pte. Black (38th R.F.), Kid Barnstein (38th R.F), Kid Feldman, Stoker Dave Josephs (H.M.S), A.M. Loofe (R.F.C), L/c Gold (38th R.F). A Great Special 15 Round Contest for the Light Weight Championship of Egypt Sgt Morry Steinberg (London) and Mick Rutherford (Australia). The accompanying band were the 38th Batt. Royal Fusiliers.
