Dorothea Friedeberger Diary

Vienna 1914 - 1915

Dorothea Friedeberger, a young English girl who had been a pupil at South Hampstead High School until 1909, spent the First World War living in Vienna with her family. Her father, originally from Shrim in Posen ran a special needs institute for the deaf and speech impaired. Her diary, written in English, gives a remarkable insight into the thoughts of a teenager experiencing both sides of the conflict.
