First World War Prisoner of War

He was captured by the British and was held as a Prisoner of War in the Isle of Wight during the War.

Kristallnacht

He owned e a factory that made cardboard boxes, also living above it, and the people that worked for him saved his family just before Kristallnacht. They stopped his family from staying at his home as they knew it was going to happen and hid them in their attack for three days. When they returned to their home, it had been destroyed.

Arrival in England

He sent his twin boys Siegfried and Paul, both 10 years old, to England on the Kindertransport. They arrived in London on the 7th of May 1939. He was lucky enough to follow them and both himself and Matilda arrived in August that same year.

His parents and brother Leo perished in the Holocaust. His other brothers also managed to escape to England.
