Military Cross Citation
“ For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty as acting adjutant in an attack. When the enemy forced the front line back from some high ground he went forward and led his men in the face of the enemy’s fire and recaptured the position. It was greatly due to his gallant conduct in moving along the line to reorganise regardless of the enemy’s fire that the battalion was ready to meet an attack which was delivered shortly afterwards.”
