Joining Up
Morris joined the Pembroke Yeomanry with his friends supposedly for the simple reason that they liked the uniform! They didn't ride horses in this regiment, but had spurs on their boots all the same.
Family Connections
Morris' son Harold was in the RAF and posted to Palestine in the Second World War. where he is photographed on the road that his father built whilst he was their during the First World War.
Malaria
Morris caught malaria in the trenches, which recurred every so often during his life.
Fighting the Turks
Morris told the story of whilst fighting in Palestine, he went to retrieve a sword from a dead Turkish soldier only to find that he was still alive.
