Morris Abraham Silverman appeared to always be in poor health. He was the oldest of 8 siblings.
He married in 1916 at the age of 25. He was discharged from military service due to ill health. He and Rachel only had 10 years of marriage together, during which time they had 6 children. He died of Pulmonary Tuberculosis at the age of 35 in 1926. Rachel died 4 years later at the age of 33. Four of their children were placed in Norwood Orphanage, and 2 were fostered. Despite the children being separated, they kept in close contact throughout their lives.
