Max was sent to Egypt during the war and contracted Malaria there.
Arriving in Britain from Russia - Max and Minnie
Minnie's parents were leaving Russia and going to America and accidentally got off in Dublin, thinking it was the states and were stuck there.
Max was also from Russia but his family docked in Liverpool and stayed there.

Minnie and Max's meeting
Max went to visit Dublin with a friend and met his future wife whom he married in 1913. His friend married her sister and both settled in Dublin before moving back to Liverpool after the war.

Max was very involved in the synagogues in both Dublin and Liverpool and was part of Bnai Brith at both
Working for a tweed company
He used to work for a tweed company which made Gents suits (Jackets, waistcoats and trousers). Max would make the waistcoats and his two other friends made the jackets and trousers respectively.
Affluence and family roles
Max was fairly affluent and Minnie even had her own car. Minnie used to do all the cooking for Max's family and everyone would go to their house to eat. She kept a very kosher house.
