Moses/Maurice Shibko: Joined 14th [Res.] Batt. East Yorks. Reg on September 10th 1915. Claimed his age was 19y. 1m., but he was actually 15. He served 149 days and was discharged as under-age on 05.02.16 when he was 16y.6m. He was transferred to the Notts. & Derby 51st on February 21st 1919 but was discharged as medically unfit on August 25th 1919. In 1920 Maurice left Liverpool on the Kaiserin Auguste Victoria for New York; he arrived at Ellis Island on June 6th 1920. The information given on the Ellis Island web site says his brother paid for his passage and that he was going to his brother-in-law, Mr M. Green, and sister at 197 Hancock East, Detroit, Michigan. Maurice stated that he intended to stay three years in USA.
