The photographs of Louis were kindly provided by Steven Goodman, whose grandmother, Eva Newman, was Louis' cousin. Steven told us the story of how he encountered the Book of Honour in the library in Southport synagogue, randomly opened on the page with his grandfather's picture. Profoundly affected, he borrowed the book and by the end of the day, his auntie pointed out numerous relatives, long gone but not forgotten. Louis Allonowitz was one of them.
