Family life
He was a very stern man; when he used to shake your hand he would shake it hard. He wouldn't talk to any of his siblings except for Esther and Theresa, whom he would see every Monday for lunch. He lived alone in a one-bed in Temple Fortune and kept to himself.

Something dropped on his head during the war, which possibly brought on a mental illness.
