Isaac was brought to the UK by his parents in around 1900 from Varniai (Vorna) in Russia (now Lithuania).

Records show that they immigrated into Hull and lived in Leeds initially, before moving to Manchester. He lived at 78 Mary Street, Strangeways.

Isaac also served in WW2 with his many brothers (see newspaper cutting from the time). Isaac's son, Hyman, lost his life in Normandy during WW2 and is buried there.
