Betsy was a dress-maker. Her and her husband Isaac opened a dress shop after the war at 3 Roman Road in Bow, and most likely lived above the shop. Whilst she was a skilled dress-maker, Betsy could not read or write. On her wedding certificate she left her mark instead of a signature.
