From 18/05/1916 - 06/06/1916 Harry Lefcovitch was permitted by the Pelham Committee to undertake farm work for Messrs Robbins at Houndslow as part of the Work of National Importance (WNI) exempting him from conscription. However, on 10/04/1917 Harry was seen in Houndslow court and was given 112 days hard labour for objecting to serve. 14/04/1917 he was sent to Wormswood, and then to Dartmoor on 10/07/1917.
