Harry reportedly lost his leg whilst trying to rescue his friend Simon Levine (https://www.jewsfww.uk/simon-levine-4870.php) who was in the same battalion, and died of his wounds. The pair are buried next to each other in a Commonwealth War Graves Commission cemetery in France,
