It would appear that Abraham's appeal to the tribunal failed and he found himself in the Royal Army Medical Corps, assigned to the Machine Gun Corps. This could have been because he claimed to be unable to be unable to shoot and kill another person and so he was assigned to the Medical Corps to help save lives instead.
Abraham is one of the thousands of service personnel who served in this conflict but have no known grave. His father, as we can see from the Disposal of Effects form received his War Gratuity.
Abraham died intestate, so that only his father, as his next of kin could decide what happened to his War medals. His Medal Card states 'M.G,.C.(Machine Gun Corp) Recd. Requests auth. to dispose of Medals 10/4/22', which would imply that with not even a grave to visit, his father could see no glory in his son's sacrifice.

He appealed to the Poplar Military Tribunal. His appeal was heard between the 26th June and 27th July 1916, but he was assigned to the Royal Army Medical Corps.
